Man Indicted in Murder of His Mother, a Narragansett Resident

Robert Taylor has been indicted on four counts, including the alleged May 2013 murder of his 65-year-old mother, a Narragansett resident.

The Washington County Grand Jury reported out Friday afternoon an indictment charging Robert Taylor, 46, with murder, mutilation of a corpse, vandalism and two counts of larceny under $1,500.

It is alleged that on or between May 3, 2013 and May 7, 2013, Taylor murdered his mother Alison Taylor, 65, of 130 Caswell St., Narragansett, cut her body into pieces and placed them in a dumpster near her residence.

Officials also allege that he vandalized collection boxes and stole money and knives from St. Thomas More Church in Narragansett several days earlier.

In June, the state Department of Health determined the cause of Alison Taylor's death was asphyxiation and blunt force trauma reportedly inflicted by her son.

Taylor, who is currently being held without bail, is scheduled to be arraigned in Washington County Superior Court on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013.
