Narragansett Police Log: September 16, 17 and 18, 2012

A North Kingstown woman allegedly scratches a man during an argument in a truck.

North Kingstown Woman Charged With Assault

Jodie Dumont, 34, of 51 New Lexington Road, North Kingstown, was arrested at about 12:57 a.m. on Sept. 17 and charged with assault.

According to police, based on interviews with Dumont and the victim, the two had been arguing in a truck together on the drive home from a bar.

Police said that based on the interviews, Dumont became upset when the driver took them to his parents’ home in Narragansett instead of her home in North Kingstown, and scratched the man during the argument.

Police noted that Dumont appeared to be highly intoxicated and incoherent, and had long fingernails, consistent with the scratch marks on the man. She was arrested without incident, processed and released at about 2:14 a.m.

South Kingstown Man Cited for Suspended License, Registration, Headlight

Daniel R. Levin, 25, of 168 Peaked Rock Road, South Kingstown, was cited at about 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 18 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer driving on Ocean Road near Major Arnold Road noted a car driving in the other lane with a defective headlight. A traffic stop was made on Nichols Avenue.

Police said a background check revealed a suspended license for the driver – Levin – as well an expired registration for the car. Levin was cited for both, and the bad headlight, and the car was towed from the scene.

URI Students Cited for Alcohol Possession

- Ryan Alexanian, 19, of 7 Elmhurst Drive, Smithfield, was cited at about 12:24 a.m. on Sept. 16 and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. Police said Alexanian is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, while clearing a party at 43 Birch Street, they noted Alexanian leaving with a can of Budweiser beer. A background check confirmed that he was 19, and he was cited for the beer.

- Ryan Keenan, 19, of Tucker Hall at the University of Rhode Island, was cited at about 1:20 a.m. on Sept. 16 and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.

According to police, an officer noted Keenan wearing a backpack in New Eastward Look. When asked what was in the backpack, Keenan allegedly told the officer, “Just a couple of beers.”

When asked how old he was, Keenan allegedly told police, “I’m just trying to get back to campus.” A check of his ID revealed he was only 19, and five cans of Bud Light were confiscated from the backpack.
