Narragansett Police Log: December 17, 2012

College Student Charged With Domestic Disorderly Conduct

Brian A. Chausse, 18, of 53 Birchwood Drive, Narragansett, was arrested at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 17 and charged with domestic disorderly conduct. Police said Chausse is a student at Liberty University in Virginia.

According to police, they received a report of Chausse losing his temper and breaking things at a home on Birchwood Drive.

Police said that when they arrived, Chausse had calmed down, and told police that he had flipped over a table during an argument with a family member about a pair of pants. He was arrested without incident, police said.

According to police, a 21-year-old woman and a 53-year-old woman who saw the incident declined to provide police with written statements. Police noted that the table’s position had been corrected, but a chair was broken.

Chausse was processed and held for arraignment at Fourth Division District Court at about 9 a.m. on Dec. 17.

Narragansett Man Arrested for Warrant; Dog Temporarily Seized

Cardoza Coston, 34, of 7 Judith Ave., Narragansett, was arrested at about 7:32 p.m. on Dec. 17. Police said a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for Coston’s arrest for missing a court hearing related to a suspended license charge.

According to police, at about 6:40 p.m. two people filed a complaint against Coston, one of their roommates. The people said that Coston came home intoxicated on the night of Dec. 12 and got into a verbal argument, which escalated when Coston broke their property and his dog bit a person.

Police said a background check revealed a warrant out for Coston’s arrest. As a result, he was arrested without incident. Police said he was transferred to the ACI at about 9:10 p.m.

According to police, Coston was in possession of two dogs, and documentation about their shots and vaccinations was unavailable. As a result, a copy of Coston’s arrest report was forwarded to the animal control officer.

Police said that the ACO investigated on Dec. 18 and determined that the dog’s vaccinations were not up to date. As a result, the dog was seized and quarantined. Police said this was done without incident, and Coston was informed of the steps he would need to take to recover the dog.
