Narragansett Man Charged With License, Car Violations
James M. Burke, 22, of 11 Judith Ave., Narragansett, was cited at about 9:25 p.m. on Aug. 10 and charged with driving with a suspended license.
According to police, an officer monitoring Point Judith Road traffic from Westlake’s Garage noted a Volkswagen without a front license plate. A traffic stop was made on Knowlesway by Ashbrook Road.
Police said a background check of the driver – Burke – revealed that his license was suspended on Aug. 10 for failing to appear at a court hearing. The plates also did not match Burke’s car, instead coming back to a Volkswagen Fox. He told police that he had just bought it recently.
The car was towed from the scene, and Burke was cited for driving with a suspended license and misuse of plates, and warned for the missing front license plate. The license plate and Burke’s license were seized by police.
