Narragansett High Snubbed in Top 5 State Rankings

US News & World Report released its annual report of the nation's top high schools Tuesday and Narragansett High School was excluded from the list of top five Rhode Island public schools.

Barrington High School was ranked No. 1.

The report found:
  • Narragansett High has a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio (state average was 12:1)
  • Its "college readiness" score was 23.2 out of 100, which above the state average
  • 54 percent of students were proficient in math
  • 94 percent of students were proficient in English
