Man Pleads Not Guilty to Killing Mother in Narragansett

Robert Taylor pleaded not guilty to the murder of his 65-year-old mother in Narragansett on May 8.

Robert Taylor, 46, the Providence man accused of killing his 65-year-old mother in her Narragansett apartment in May, pleaded not guilty Monday morning to charges of murder, mutilation of a corpse, vandalism and two counts of larceny.

Taylor's arraignment today in Washington County Superior Court in Wakefield was originally scheduled for last Monday, Nov. 25, but was postponed early that morning.

Taylor was indicted Nov. 15 on the above charges after he allegedly murdered his mother Allison Taylor in her Caswell Street apartment, cut her body into pieces and placed them in a dumpster near her residence. The larceny and vandalism charges result from reports that Taylor allegedly vandalized collection boxes and stole money and knives from St. Thomas More Church in Narragansett several days before his mother's death. The murder was discovered by police while they were investigating the church complaints.
