New York Felony Suspect Arrested in Narragansett
Billy Dee Armstrong, 27, of 1825 Mineral Spring Ave., Apt. #5, North Providence, was arrested at about 5:30 p.m. on March 20 and charged with being a fugitive from justice on a felony charge emanating from New York.
According to police, an officer was monitoring the bus stop on Knowlesway in an attempt to find a local man with warrants out for his arrest.
Police said that from a distance, Armstrong matched a physical description of the local man. As a result, police approached him and asked him for ID.
According to police, Armstrong cooperated, but a background check revealed a New York City Police Department warrant for a felony charge of second-degree property damage.
Police said Armstrong was arrested without incident. He was processed and then transported to the ACI at 7:46 p.m.
