DUI Suspect to Police: ‘I’m Irish, I Can Tolerate More’

Narragansett Man Charged With Domestic Assault

John G. Shaw, 45, of 11 Spinnaker Court, Narragansett, was arrested at about 9:30 p.m. on March 13 and charged with domestic assault.

According to police, they received a report of a domestic disturbance at a home on Spinnaker Court. Police said that based on interviews, Shaw and the victim got into a fight over him not having worked for several years so that he could work on a “Cupcake Challenge” tour around the country.

The victim told police that as the argument escalated, Shaw grabbed her by the throat and shoved her into a closet. In the process, she told police that she hit her leg against the door and twisted her ankle.

According to police, a family member of the victim corroborated her story. Shaw was arrested without incident, processed and held for arraignment at Fourth Division District Court at 9 a.m. on March 14.
