Another Underage Drinking Party in SK; 4 Charged with Social Host Violations

Four adults under 21 were charged with violating the state's social host laws.

South Kingstown police are investigating another large underage drinking party, charging four adults under 21 with violating the state's social host laws.

Police said they were dispatched to the house at 2302 Kingstown Road at 11:49 p.m. on June 6 in response to a loud party complaint and found a large crowd in a scene they described as "chaotic."

Police said there were about 40 to 60 people at the party and at least 23 were under 21.

At the scene, officers reported people attempted to lock doors to prevent them from getting into the house and two tenants reportedly hid in their bedrooms in the hopes of eluding a police investigation.

Police did end up identifying four tenants and all were charged with violating the state's social host laws. A fifth was charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage as a minor.

Police charged Anthony E. Conte, 19, of 287 Knollridge Drive, North Smithfield; Aspen H. Burke, 20, of 207 Kennebunk., Me.; William R. D'Amico, 19, of 125 Bluff Ave., Cranston; and Kelly A. Fox, 20, of Sandwich, Mass., with one count of procuring alcohol for a minor.

Layne Burke, 18, of 112 Mawney St. East Greenwich,  was charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under the age of 21. Burke was summonsed to appear in 4th District Court on June 19, 2104

Police said Burke told an officer that she was only holding the bottle of wine for a friend that was vomiting at the time.
