MathCounts Competition at NPS Wednesday

You think 1 + 1 equals 3? Maybe you can get a hint from these sharp kids…

The Narragansett Pier School will be hosting the final qualifier round for its seventh and eighth grade MathCounts team 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 in the cafeteria.

MathCounts is a math club and competition program, often seen as the arithmetic equivalent of the Spelling Bee. Following Wednesday’s program, the top 10 students will compete at Rhode Island College in March at the state finals.

On Wednesday, Cullen Chapron, Zachary Gauvin and Jessica Hart will compete for the final spot on the 10-member competition team. The other two students will be first and second alternate for the team.
