Jane F. (Shea) Cruff, 79, of Bonnet Shores, Narragansett and formerly of Edgewood, Cranston, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2014. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Ronald A. Cruff. Born in Westerly, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Shea.
Mrs. Cruff graduated from Westerly High School and the University of Rhode Island, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She was an elementary school teacher in Hartford, CT and worked at The Cruff Agency for many years. She was active in many community organizations. She was the devoted mother of Patricia A. Evangelista and her husband David, of Jamestown, Dr. Dennis M. Cruff and his wife Lisa of Poquoson, VA and Martha J. Sheridan and her husband Arthur of Wakefield; loving grandmother of Jenna, Lauren, Meryl, Victoria, Paige, Macallan, Liam and the late Zachary; and sister of Patricia Conroy of Palm Desert CA.
Her funeral will be held from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road (Route 1A), Narragansett on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the URI Foundation, 79 Upper College Road, Kingston, RI 02881.
