Madaline Virginia King, Retired Teacher, Dies at 88

Madaline passed away December 3, 2013.

Madaline Virginia (Bret) King, 88, of Narragansett passed away December 3, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of George J. King, Jr.

She is also survived by her sister, Marie Brett of Greenville, RI and her precious pets Andy, Bobby and Marty. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Brett. 

Mrs. King was a graduate of the former Rhode Island College of Education, now Rhode Island College with a B.A. degree in Education. She taught for 37 years in the Providence School System, at the former Kenyon Street School, now the Carl Lauro School and at the Robert F. Kennedy School. She was a member of the Providence Teachers Union.

Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, Dec. 9, in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial followed in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours were omitted.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League Shelter, 506 Curtis Corner Road, Peace Dale, RI 02883.
