URI Students Stand Up With 'Bullies Leave Us Empty' Campaign

Help URI students stop bullying! Watch and share our anti-bullying PSA and Think BLUE, We Do!

I am a current student studying at the University of Rhode Island. For my communications research methods class we were challenged to create an anti-bullying PSA that gets more views than our competitors at UConn.

We have developed an anti-bullying campaign including a PSA video, which is the centerpiece of our campaign. The PSA titled An All Too Familiar Story highlights the effects bullying can have on an individual.

Currently with one in four people reporting they are victims of bullying, campaigns like this are necessary in our fight to end this trend. Our campaign Bullies Leave Us Empty, or BLUE for short, was created following extensive research by the thirty or so students enrolled in the research methods class.

Our class is competing against students at the University of Connecticut to see which class can make a bigger impact. To do this we need as wide of a reach as possible to gain the maximum amount of exposure for our PSA so we can spread the word about anti-bullying. The more people we reach the more people that will start to ‘Think BLUE’ like we do!

Together our class has created a PSA that we really hope can make a difference. With so many victims of bullying, which sometimes leads to abuse or suicide, we ask for your support to put an end to bullying. We ask that you check out and share our PSA which can be found on our website www.bulliesleaveusempty.yolasite.com. You can also interact with us over Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/BulliesLeaveUsEmpty or on Twitter @URI_Goes_BLUE.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
Jacqueline Atkins
Head of Public Relations for BLUE

When I Was Growing Up There Wasn't All This BS About Bullying. If You Were Bullied, You Went Home And Asked Your Dad To Teach You How To Fight. Today We Teach Our Kids That They Are All Victims, They Are All Entitled To Something, And They Are All Special. Nowadays Every Kid On A Sports Team Gets A Trophy, Or A Medal. They All Get A Chance To Play Every Game, And If They Don't Get To Play, The Parents Blame The Coach. Maybe Your Kid Didn't Get To Play Because He Sucks, Ever Think Of That? I Have To Agree With That Pansy Chace, Grow A Set Of Balls And Stand Up For Yourselves Instead Of Blaming Everyone Else.

Not every word in a sentence needs a capital letter. How about growing some grammar?
