2013 Thanksgiving Football Preview: South Kingstown vs. North Kingstown

The South Kingstown Rebels will take on the North Kingstown Skippers on Thursday, for a morning of Thanksgiving Day football.

WHEN: 10 a.m. Thursday

WHERE: University of Rhode Island's Meade Stadium, located at 25 W Alumni Avenue on URI's Kingston campus.

HOW MUCH: $5 per ticket at the gate.

WEATHER FORECAST: The Thursday forecast is windy and partly cloudy with a high of 34 degrees and a low of 20 degrees. There is a zero percent chance of precipitation. 

TEAM RECORDS: This year, North Kingstown is having the better season. Its record is now 9-2, while South Kingstown's is 4-6.

HISTORY of RIVALRY: Between 1946-1954, except in 1948 and 1950, South Kingstown took home six of seven wins, with the exception of 1953 when the NK Skippers conquered SK 13-6. 

In 2000, the schools revived their rivalry, resulting in seven wins for South Kingstown and six for North Kingstown in their current "modern series" of Thanksgiving match ups.
