Summer Fellowship Program - IT & BIO

 



Tech Collective, the RI industry association for Information
Technology and Bioscience is matching recent college graduates (Class of 2014)
who have IT or Bioscience degrees from a RI college/university with RI
employers who have a current or anticipated job opening in those two areas.

Applicants must have a 2-4 year degree in an Information
Technology/Computer Science, Bioscience – or related courses of study from a RI
college or university.



·        
Applicants must be a recent RI college/university graduate (within 6
months after graduation) who is either unemployed/underemployed, but not
working in the IT/bioscience industry.

·        
Graduates of certificate programs in IT/Computer Science, Bioscience, or
related programs of study from public/private post-secondary institutions or
training providers will be considered on a case-by-case basis.



·        
Be a legal resident of the
State of Rhode Island or a non-resident graduate from a RI college/university.



·        
Applicants must submit a current resume and cover letter that relates to
the position for which they apply.



·        
Selected applicants will agree to be interviewed by Tech Collective
staff and the RI employer(s).



·        
Participants will receive a “real world experience” by working in a
professional setting for 35-40 hours per week from approximately June 2 –
August 22, 2014.



·        
The successful candidates will receive a weekly stipend of $600 per week
for 10-12 weeks.



·        
Each participant must attend Fellowship orientation/group meetings prior
to the start of and during the program to review expectations, requirements,
share successes/concerns, etc.



·        
Each participant will be required to submit signed time sheets, complete
a program evaluation and attend an end-of-Program recognition event in early
September.
