Roomful of Blues Returns to Kingston

Rhode Island's own Roomful of Blues will kick off the 36th Annual South County Hot Air Balloon Festival at 6:30 pm on Friday, July 18 at the URI Athletic Fields in Kingston. Rain or shine.

Roomful of Blues has energized crowds for decades with its jump blues, R&B and early rock 'n roll. Led by local blues guitarist Chris Vachon, Roomful celebrated its 45th anniversary last year with a new CD, 45 Live.

Dennis Jannson's Tropical Wave steel drum music will open for Roomful beginning at 4:30 pm.

The Hot Air Balloon Festival features hot air balloon tethered rides in
the early morning on Saturday and Sunday as well as early evening on
Friday and Saturday.  Fireworks will go off on Saturday at 9:00 pm. There are also carnival rides, kids' rides and attractions, food vendors, crafters, and more!

Admission
is $10 for adults and $5 for children 4 and under. A special Family
rate for parents and children is $25. Parking is free. RV camping is
available on site.
