The Gansett Marathon is a qualifiers-only marathon that runs annually in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Previously a Spring marathon, the race organizers have picked October 26, 2013 as the date of the next Gansett Marathon and plan to continue Gansett as a Fall marathon. The qualifying standards for the Gansett Marathon are 5 minutes faster than the Boston Marathon in each of the corresponding age/gender groups. The majority of those who qualify for Boston, however, also qualify for Gansett. The rationale for moving Gansett to the Fall is to provide the qualifiers who run Boston an opportunity to run a qualifiers-only marathon in the Fall.
