Earth Day Festival

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Research and Development’s Atlantic Ecology Division (AED), will be hosting an Earth Day festival on Saturday,  April 26th, 2014 from 10 am until 2 pm at the EPA laboratory facility, 27 Tarzwell Drive in Narragansett, RI.  The event is free and open to the public.  Under the theme ‘Earth Day 2014: Preserving Rhode Island’s Environmental Heritage’  the festival is designed to engage citizens of all ages and backgrounds in local community efforts that promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices as well as inform them about ongoing environmental research at AED. The festival will consist of diverse interactive displays and informal workshops led by AED scientists, The Nature Conservancy, Coastal Resources Management Council Invasive Species Program, the URI Graduate School of Oceanography, the Narrow River Preservation Society, the RI Beekeepers Association, the RI Rivers Council, and the Wildlife Rehabilitators Society of RI.  The recycling firm, Indie Cycle will also be on site to collect your electronic waste.  Special activities for children will include a marine live animal display, environmental trivia, and environmental crafts.  For more information, contact us at
