Police Log: Drunken-Driving Charges

Anthony Randall, 22, of 2 Joy Lane, Narragansett, was arrested on Monday, Jan. 13 at 1:24 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence, first offense .15 or greater, after he was stopped for speeding on Route 1. According to reports, as police followed Randall’s truck he swerved across the fog line on two occasions. He also allegedly smelled of alcohol and admitted to police he drank a couple of beers at the Mews Tavern in Wakefield early that night.

After failing field sobriety tests, Randall was cuffed and back at the station he registered a .191 and .176 blood-alcohol content.

Marijuana Possession

Joshua M. Gonzales, 25, of 32 Grandeville Court Apt. 1025, South Kingstown, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 1:40 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana, first offense. Police allegedly found Gonzales smoking a joint on a path adjacent to the South Kingstown Dog Park. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on March 1.

 Suspended License Charge

Ronald J. Fournier Jr., 31, of 23 Melrose St. Apt. 2, East Greenwich, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 2:17 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license after he was stopped for speeding on Route 1. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on Feb. 23.

DUI Charges

Michael H. Cassidy, 65, of 33 Cranberry Run, South Kingstown, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 12 at 1:46 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence, first offense, BAC unknown and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He will be arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on March 1.

Break-In On Kingstown Road

Norman Perkins, of 3518 Kingstown Road, reported on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 11:58 a.m. that someone broke into his apartment and stole his laptop, 32-inch flat screen television, an antique Chilean Civil War sniper, and a throwing gun. The total loss in property was estimated at $2,800. Police are investigating the matter.
