Where/When: The Ocean Mist, 895 Matunuck Beach Road, Matunuck/Saturday, Dec. 31. The music starts at 3:30 p.m, but the bar opens at 11:30 a.m. daily for food and drinks.

Why Go: This is going to be the best New Years Eve party in South Kingstown! Bring it back old school with the much-anticipated Racketball Reunion Show!!!! Join the Ocean Mist as we say good by to 2011 and usher in 2012 with a champaigne toast at midnight! The Ocean Mistics perform from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m.

Where/When: Liliana's Italian Restaurant at The Holiday Inn, 3009 Tower Hill Rd, Saunderstown/Saturday, Dec. 31. All night.

Why Go: Enjoy the comforts of a room at the Holiday Inn with a bottle of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries.  You'll also receive a $75 credit to be used at Liliana's Italian Restaurant, and a complementary continental breakfast.

Where/When: All That Matters, 315 Main St, Wakefield/Saturday, Dec. 31 from 7-10:30 p.m.

Why Go: Join  Cathy Cesario, Stephanie Marisca, and your friends at All That Matters  this New Year's Eve. Shake off the old with yoga and dancing to live  drums and world music! Then bring in the new with a Gong Bath to  resonate your intentions and resolutions through the new year! Top off  the evening with mocktails and light hors d'oeuvres.

  • Yoga Dance Party, Live Drumming:  7 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Gong Meditation: 8:45 - 10 p.m.
  • Mocktails and hors d'oeuvres:  10 - 10:30 p.m.

Where/When: URI's Boss Arena, 1 Keaney Rd, Kingston/Saturday, Dec. 31 beginning at 11 a.m.

Why Go: Sessions for the " Learn to Skate " run year round at the Boss  Arena.The program is a beginning ice skating program that is fun,challenging, and rewarding. Participation in the program will eneble beginning skaters of all ages and abilities to learn the FUNdamentals of the sport and begin a lifetime commitment to health and wellness. Join today! Learn to skate, meet new friends, be healthy and have fun!          

Hockey players can also benefit from working with our professionals....be the best skater on your team!

Cost: $130 for an eight-week session.

5. Polar Plunge for R.I. Center Assisting Those in Need at the Green Hill Beach Club:

Where/When: Green Hill Beach Club, 1064 Green Hill Beach Road, Green Hill/Sunday, Jan. 1. Registration is at 11 a.m. and the plunge is at noon.

Why Go: Join us in a great cause. The inaugural Polar Plunge for the Rhode Island Center Assisting Those in Need (RICAN) is hopeing to raise $10,000.  Plungers and spectators are welcome!
