What's YOUR, Personal- 'Maintenance'-Program?

     When one thinks about how, most, car-owners, take care of their autos, maintaining them, with regular, oil-changes, check-ups, and, regular-repairs, when necessary, and, then, looks at same, faction of folk, with, many, whom, are, per, 'expert'-opinion and statistics, unwell, themselves...overweight, plagued by illness and disorder associated to and with their, obesity, and, just, generally, in a state of 'dis-ease', not to mention, their 'spiritual' well-being, or, lack, thereof, it is, rather, astonishing. How is it that so many people, regard the 'health' of their, motorized-vehicle(s), more, intently, than they do their own-machine...their body? Personally, I have never been able to 'figure this out'; Although, it's not a thing I ponder, often, when the reality of this, situation, occurs to me, I do contemplate it. Our bodies require the same, diligent-'doctoring', as do our drivable-'denizens', of the driveway, carport, or, garage. The fact, that, this, is the reality for so many, is, alarming, and, disheartening. Once again, it is another, 'surefire' example, as to how, we, as Americans, are, so easily, led, as to come to believe, that, our 'wheels', 'deserve' better care than we. Not only that, but, we have come to be convinced that ALL of us need our, very-own, personal-peddle-less mode of transportation...keep that 'supply and demand' for oil at record-highs, right? Don't get me wrong, I own a 'horseless-carriage, too. It's inconvenient, in this day and age, living in certain parts of the country, to be without one; But, believe me, if I had my 'druthers', I'd be 'rockin' a horse and buggy. The other side to this issue, is, that, for many, the millions of people without health-insurance, those, who must shell-out hard-earned dollars to see a doctor, seem to prefer, when spending those same 'dollars and cents' to lavish it on a car; or, often, times...don't have a choice! The, real, underlying-issue, though, is in wondering WHY we sell ourselves, so-'short', insofar as caring for ourselves, goes? Our desire for complete health and well-being ought to far-surpass the need to 'nurture' our 'gas-guzzlers'. The 'maintenance' of our 'mind, body, and, spirit' ought to supersede that of our car(s)... compact, convertible, coupe, hardtop, hatchback, sedan, or, 'sports car'; these, although, important to our-lives, are only 'things'. We are a 'perfect-machine' created, in the image of Our Creator, and, it is our duty and responsibility to care for THESE, vessels, to the VERY best of our capability. Just Sayin'...
