Tme And Time...AGAIN!

I've been sitting here, thinking of the harsh-reality that will soon be upon us; that, which will 'darken our doors', both literally, AND figuratively, coming by way of the arrival of the bi-annual event we know as Daylight Saving Time. I, truly, hate, being the harbinger of bad-news, and, I'd change things, if I could; but, alas, there's not a thing we can do. On an evening, such as this, as I watch the darkening sky, from my west-faced vantage point, I witness the sun's retreat, and, am hopeful that I'll see it, again, tomorrow. Just recently, I've taken ,true, note as to how Ol' Mr. Sol has been 'slowly, and, quite surely', steadily slipping out of sight earlier and earlier, with each, passing, day. Intellectually, I know that it IS 'that time of the year', and, such, but...Wow...AGAIN...ALREADY? Yup...sad, but, true. Exactly one month from tomorrow, we will be 'falling back', once again, when we set our clocks behind by one hour. During these next 30+ days, we will lose precisely, one, additional, minute, with each day passed. Today's sunset occurred at 6:25PM. When one 'does the math', so to speak, this equates to a sunset at, approximately, 5:54, on November 2nd, the day before we, officially, and, deliberately, rob ourselves of another, coveted and precious hour of daylight; when, then, as each year, we, here, on the East Coast, will be 'welcoming in' the darkness, by late 'afternoon', at the early, hour of 4:54, or, somewhere 'in the neighborhood' of this time-frame. This evening, as I watched the sky, gradually, blacken, and, allowed my thoughts to wander, I found myself curious about the history of this time-changing system. Upon doing a bit of research, I discovered an article which answered any and all questions I may have had. I love learning new things, and, am happy to have gained some insight into this topic. Yet, none of what I've discovered is going to change how I, personally, feel about this lame, and, unwelcome, occurrence. Hey, if it gets dark before 5:00PM, I'm ready for bed by 7...maybe, 8, and, thus, begins 'hibernation-mode'...not a good thing! For, unlike my predecessors, before me, those who NEEDED to gain an extra layer of insulation, I do not; but...this fact NEVER stops me from doing so. My body has 'a mind of it's own'! I'm not one to 'wish away' time; I appreciate each and every moment of each and every day. But..facts are facts. I just do better with more daytime, and, less nighttime. If I'm thinkin' like this, already, it's gonna be a very, long, Winter! Just Sayin'... :-)
