'TICK'-Tock'...It's That Time Of The Year...Again!

The 'deer-tick' season, is upon us, once again; This, having been confirmed, this AM, after a brief walk, out of doors, and, coming in to find one crawling on me. These lil' 'you know whats!' are not a thing to scoff at, as the incidence for Lyme Disease, in this part of the state...in this part of the COUNTRY, is skyrocketing, and, soaring, each and every year. Over the last 25 years, I have been treated for this, insidious, disorder, FOUR X's, to date; with, the most recent, occurrence, two years ago, being one of a 'recurrence, from a past-episode. For, as some of you may or may not know, although, treated with antibiotics, upon diagnosis, with this quelling any symptoms, the Lyme bacteria-'bug', NEVER leaves one's body. It remains, dormant...sleeping, 'snug as a bug', in a state of remission, in our tissues, organs, and brain, until something 'triggers' a 'flare'…GREAT news! There has been an ongoing controversy, with respect to this, 'fact', with the CDC (Center of Disease Control) always, in denial of the disease's inability to return. Gee...WHAT a surprise! There is far too much, other, research, which has been performed, and, too much 'proof', that, Lyme, can and does, 'stick-around', regardless of treatment, which, only, truly, works to eradicate symptoms. It is not unlike, any, other 'auto-immune' disorder, which, has the tendency to seem 'under-control' one day, and, 'out of control' the next. So, beware and be wary of these, 'tiny-torturers', for, the havoc they can wreak is REAL. Now, that, the weather is 'turning' and, it's going to call us out of doors, to spend time enjoying Mother-Nature, keep in mind the need to 'check' yourself out, on a daily-basis, in search of these, buggers. They are itty-bitty, sometimes, no larger than the tip of a sharpened-pencil...SMALL; and, this, part of the reason they can, easily, go undetected. They love your pets, too, so be sure to go over them with a 'fine-toothed comb, after they come in from their time outside. A 'word to the wise' is what I like to say; For, as I sit here, typing-away, I am, once again, awaiting the results of my most, recent Lyme-test, as I've been exhibiting symptoms, once AGAIN! Just Sayin'...
