This Is NOT Your Parent's DMV!

     Going to the Rhode Island DMV is not, quite, the 'horror-show' it once was; Although, depending on what one wishes to accomplish, while. there, one ought be prepared for a LOOOOOONG day! If you're not planning on bringing-along some 'company', bring a good-book, at the very, least. Today, I spent about 2 1/2 hours, at the newest-location, in Cranston. Most folks I was seated near, had their noses to the IPhone, IPad, 'Phablet', or, 'Kindle'. I had my dear, sweet, Mom to yammer with, and, believe me...NUTHIN' is MORE entertaining than that, except, perhaps, for the 'people-watching', which, is, VERY, amusing and diverting. 'Today's' 'new and improved', Registry Of Motor Vehicle employee is, actually, quite, pleasant, and, VERY, accommodating, much, UNLIKE, from years, past. Heck, the attitude one might get from the 'old' DMV-worker, was such, that, one, ALMOST, felt that he or she was disturbing the employee's 'work-day', and, there was, barely, a 'hello', 'goodbye' or 'have a nice day' factored in, anywhere. Not so, these, days, I must say. Within, the past, several, years, I have noticed a great deal of improvement, at the DMV, not, simply, in the function of the facility, but, greatly, in the attitude's of the associates. This, very, welcome, as far as I'm concerned. For, waiting for hours, on end, is enough to deal with, never mind, adding to this, a 'disgruntled' and 'grumpy' government-employee. To what, or to whom, do we 'owe' our gratitude and thanks, for these, changes, those, making one's 'experience' there, more tolerable, to the point of being, NOT, terrible? I'm unsure, truth be told. However, I guess, it, honestly, doesn't matter, in so long as the DMV-employees are, at least, PRETENDING to enjoy their job(s)! Just Sayin'...
