'Lucky-Charms'...They're Magically Decisive...

'I'm looking over a four-leaf clover, that I've overlooked before...' These, are, lyrics, written by Mort Dixon with music by Harry M. Woods. The tune, entitled, same, was a hit for Art Mooney & His Orchestra, in 1948, and was largely popularized by him. In modern times, it was associated with 'Merrie Melodies' cartoons, as it appeared in several of them. To me, the sentiment, in this sappy, little song, suggests that, sometimes, even though we may not 'see' them, there ARE 'fortunate' and positive things to take note of. A four-leaf clover is the symbol of 'good-luck', an uncommon variation of the common, three-leaved clover. According to tradition, such leaves bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally. In addition, each leaf is believed to represent something: the first is for faith, the second is for hope, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck. As it goes, sometimes, in life, we can get so 'caught-up' and distracted by certain of life's offerings, that we fail to acknowledge the 'good-luck', or positive that still, exists, though we may be 'blind' to it, at intervals. It is, very, easy, to sometimes lose our focus, and, 'forget' that, although, we may be facing challenge, sometimes, extreme, in it's nature, there is ALWAYS something 'good' to take note of. We, often, overlook our own 'four-leaf clovers', in times of challenge, duress, and stress. It is during these times, that it is, especially, important, to recall, recognize, reflect, and, remember, that there exist 'silver-linings' to all of life's gray clouds. Although, at times, the lovely, 'little things', in life, seem just that...slightly, insignificant to other, more, pressing issues, which, can arise, it is important to attempt to keep the small, 'miracles' at heart and in mind; these, such things as a beautiful day, a new-born babe, a Season's change, are the 'four-leaf clovers' that we, sometimes, overlook. In my life, today, it is my desire, ALWAYS, to find the 'lucky-charms', to appreciate the 'magical-moments', to focus on the 'good-stuff'. Naturally, as all others, I have challenges to face, hurdles and obstacles to 'jump' and 'leap' across. However, in so doing, I find ways to bear in mind that these 'crosses to bear' are for a Purpose, and, in addition, there are, always, beauteous things to appreciate, all the while. In living life, in this fashion, I, try, NEVER to overlook my own, 'four-leaf clovers'. Just Sayin'...
