Good Fences...Good Neighbors...GREAT, Trees!

After a lovely, early-AM, stroll, around my yard, today, I was 'taking-note' of the, physical, geographical-changes, which have occurred, over the years, since my moving here, almost, 15 years ago; this, 'in and of itself', remarkable, to me, as the time has, simply, FLOWN! Some of the change, being, most, prevalent, comes by way of the size, that, some of the trees have attained, most, especially, the 'transplanted'-cedars, which, I planted, myself, on the perimeter of my yard. On average, these, tree, grow, minimally, a foot, per year, so...they, are, QUITE, tall, at this juncture. They were all, wee-little, trees, when I 'uprooted' them, and, gave them their new-homes, a thing, I've done, often, over time; Yet, these, days, don't have the physical-strength, nor, stamina, for the job. Alas...Anyway, whenever, doing this, I'm, always, careful, as, I am concerned for the tree(s), and, other, than, for the, annual, 'sacrificial' X-mas Tree, that, I cut, down, I, attempt, to keep all others alive. I have had great, success, over the last, decade and a half, and, for this, I am grateful; For, I, truly, HATE, killing ANYTHING, especially, a tree. The soil, here, is, highly-acidic, and, for that, reason, supports the growth of cedar-trees, and...they, abound. I notice, new-trees, 'springing-up' all over the place, all the time, this, good to know, for future, Christmases! When, first, moving here, the local-flora, barely, existed, on my property. Now, all these, years, later, it has 'filled-in', quite, nicely, offering me, much, in the way of privacy, which BTW...I LOVE! The cedars have grown to make a great, natural-fencing, and, though, I like my neighbors, VERY, VERY, much, the trees offer us, all, the seclusion we enjoy. Actually, at the height of the Summer-Season, when all the local-growth has filled in and maxed-out, one would be 'hard-pressed' to realize the existence of a home, here, as, it becomes so, concealed; The only, indication, to a stranger, driving by, are the mailboxes, at the top of the road. It may be true, that, 'Only God can make a tree', but, it 'does my heart good' to know, that, I can assist in helping them to grow and thrive; And, I do this, for my, MOST, favorite, 'neighbor'...Mother-Nature! Just Sayin'...
