An Angel In My Pocket...

Some of the local, secondary-roads, in South County, are TREACHEROUS, tonight. If one doesn't NEED to go out, in this wind-whipped 'Whiteout'...STAY PUT! Seriously! This late, PM, I, myself, experienced, a 'near-miss', eking out of, what, at that moment, appeared to be an unavoidable disaster. In that I believe in Angels, those of the 'Guardian' Variety, and, the equally, respected, 'Garden-Variety', I know that my escape, from ending my day with a 'BANG', could ONLY have occurred through the effort, and, GREAT, response-time, of one of the aforementioned. At the very, least, had this 'accident' occurred, I would have been left 'car-less'. I shudder to imagine damage, beyond that. I MUST admit that I was, just a 'touch' unnerved, (insert, obligatory, LOL) and, tried, at all cost, to NOT panic; And...I didn't. Additionally, I know that I wasn't so much steering my car, as being directed and led to safety. At a point, it seemed that things, actually, moved a bit, slowly, and, it felt as though I had experienced a 'shift' in time, it's difficult to describe, really. Initially, time had felt as if it had sped up, in the moment when I thought I'd lost-control of my vehicle. I swerved, uncontrollably, within my own lane, til, which time, my car was propelled, forward, into oncoming-traffic....all, very, odd, and, all happening within a few, mere, moments. Then, like something out of a dream, my car, within fractions of inches of an oncoming car, sidled up to the opposing vehicle, and, then as 'pulled' away by some 'other-worldly' force, slipped-past the SUV, in which, I am CERTAIN. there was a driver who, like me, KNEW an accident WAS going to occur. Yet...none did...amazingly. I KNOW it was one of my Ethereal-Protectors...I do. There's no other explanation, not really...not for me. Some others might, possibly, attribute this fortunate, event, to 'good-luck', and, to my, deliberate and thoughtful, reaction, lacking in panic. I'd have to agree, the end-result was very, fortuitous, indeed. Once control of my car was in my hands, again, I continued home, almost as if the whole experience hadn't happened. I looked in my rear-view and, saw no sight of that, gone, moment, nothing 'freeze-framed' to capture that moment, just, the memory in my mind, and, the gratitude, in my heart, to the Cherub who chose to watch over me. Bless You, and Thank You...
