Newport Concert Series At The Newport Yachting Center Welcomes You For A Spectacular Evening Of Rock On The Waterfront With Yes

The Newport Concert Series at the Newport Yachting Center announces that the original pioneer of progressive rock will perform two of its classic albums in their entirety: Fragile and Close to the Edge plus an encore of their greatest hits at An Evening with YES on Sunday, July 13th.  Tickets are available now for purchase for $39.50, $59.50 and $69.50 by visiting www.newportwaterfrontevents.com or by calling 800-745-3000.  The gates for the concert will open at 5:30 p.m. along with live music on the Point Stage.  Music on the Main Stage will follow at 6:30 p.m.  The Newport Concert Series will take place from late May through October at its unique waterfront venue in downtown Newport.

YES has achieved worldwide success with a history spanning 45 years and 20 studio albums. The band’s current line-up consists of singer Jon Davison, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, and keyboardist Geoff Downes. Best known for its chart-topping hits, including “Roundabout,” “Long Distance Runaround” and “Starship Trooper”, YES is distinctly popular for its expansive songs, esoteric lyrics, elaborate album art and live stage sets.

The Newport Concert Series at the Newport Yachting Center has announced four other shows to-date.  The Wailers & Rusted Root on Saturday, May 31st, Barenaked Ladies on Friday, July 18th, ARIAT Presents Josh Turner’s Roughstock and Rambler Tour on Thursday, August 14th and Chris Young on Saturday, September 20th.  Tickets for all shows are on sale now. More concerts will be announced on a weekly basis this spring with the goal of having a minimum of 16 concerts this season.

The Newport Yachting Center is located on the waterfront in the heart of historic downtown Newport on America's Cup Avenue.  The venue features a covered concert tent and ample open air space with stunning views of Newport Harbor.  Guests can enjoy “The Point”, a dockside waterfront bar and lounge with a full line of cocktails, wines, imported beers and micro brews, before, during and after the shows.  Julian’s Omnibus offers concert-goers a fun, eclectic dining experience along with rooftop seating to fully appreciate the panoramic Newport views.
