Sweet Cakes Wins 'Best Bakery in South County'
The Peace Dale bakery is given the 'Best South County Bakery' award in the annual Rhode Island Monthly competition last Thursday, July 25.

Sweet Cakes added another framed certificate proving that customers agree they bake the best treats anywhere in South County.
This is the second of such award for Bakery owner Jim Creighton - although he said he couldn't remember exactly how many "Best of Rhode Island" awards the shop had received over the years. Creighton purchased the bakery in September 2011.
"We have won many times, we won last year," said Creighton. "I have a stack of these awards."
The bakery websites boasts eight previous wins.
Sweet Cakes is a fixture on Kingstown Road in Peace Dale, well-known for its pastries, cakes and other sweet sensations.
"I think it's great that we won - we didn't do much in the way of campaigning because we sort of lost track," said Creighton. "I hope to think we have a good reputation and that people responded to that and our quality product."
