South County Adventure Boot Camp is 'Best Fitness Studio in South County'

If you want to shed some pounds and work your way into a healthier, fitter lifestyle, South County Adventure Boot Camp is the place to do it.

For the second year in a row, the 3-year-old boot camp business snagged the crowning title of 'Best Fitness Studio in South County,' beating out hundreds of gyms, yoga studios and fitness programs across eight communities at Rhode Island Monthly's annual "Best of Rhode Island" competition.

"At this camp we aim to make fitness fun," said Ryan Bate, who started the boot camp in April 2010 with his wife, Danielle. "That is our goal, to make camps completely different every day. We want campers to challenge themselves appropriately. This is not an atmosphere that is overwhelming. We are about building you up and getting you to do something that is amazing for yourself."

Bate describes his boot camp as a community. Campers become lifelong friends, achieve goals and work to support their neighbors and community.

"It's about creativity, fun, and the fact that every individual is expected to work at their own fitness level," said Bate. "I go out on limb and tell any individual who joins our camp that they will get as much attention as if they were doing one-on-one personal training."

The Bates offer four boot camp sessions five days per week. Camps are four weeks long and the couple offers 10 sessions per year - Bate said this is a huge expansion from the single one-hour class they offered daily when the business opening in April 2010.

With an open atmosphere and ample workout opportunities, the Bates South County Adventure Boot Camp is a success story among local fitness studios.
