Five Guys Opens in Belmont Plaza

Five Guys Burgers and Fries is open for business.

The fast-growing restaurant chain opened its latest location in Belmont Plaza at 600 Kingstown Road and officials from the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce were on hand along with store owners for a ribbon cutting earlier this week.

The store is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Five Guys dates back to the 1980s but the company didn't begin to franchise out until 2003. Today, there are more than 1,000 locations across the country.

So what is Five Guys? The menu is simple. There are burgers, hot dogs, a few sandwich choices and fries, done Five Guys Style or Cajun style.

The meat is ground fresh, the fries are hand-cut and some Five Guys fan treat the place with cult-like zeal.
