5 THINGS: The Million Dollar Man and Million Dollar Crafts

Okay, the crafts don’t actually cost $1 million, but you think they will!

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Friday, January 18, 2013:

Need crafts? The South County Artisan’s Market is on display at the Fantastic Umbrella Factory in Charlestown at 10 a.m. For more info, click here.

Register for South Kingstown Little League or Softball! Want to play Little League this year? Cool, click here! Is slow pitch softball more your speed? Cool, click here! Both leagues offer early bird specials if you register in January instead of February, so don’t dawdle!

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Royal Thai Armed Forces Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know!

Yet when I declare myself King of the Rubber Balloon Animals, people just laugh. On this day in 1701, Frederick I crowned himself King of Prussia.

“Everybody has a price!” Happy 59th birthday to Theodore Marvin “Ted” DiBiase, better known as “The Million Dollar Man.” He still has one of the greatest, most ridiculous laughs ever, and if you don’t believe me, check out the attached YouTube clip.
