5 THINGS: Hockey, Ireland and Sam Malone

Back in business! After going to a reduced publication schedule for the holidays, we’re back to our usual pace of six to 10 stories for the rest of the week. Huzzah! As a reminder though, we will be reduced a bit next Tuesday, because of New Year’s Eve and Day.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Ireland's Constitution Day. (Hey, I like the sound of that!) As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. “Sam!!!” Happy 65th birthday to Ted Danson, a.k.a. Sam Malone from Cheers. Sure, he’s been in a bunch of stuff since then, like Becker and CSI, but the only thing that came close to Cheers for me was his guest spots in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
