5 THINGS: Freddy Mercury Wants to Ride His Bicycle

5 THINGS: It's Bicycle Day, plus, a free movie at the Kingston Free Library tonight.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Friday, April 19, 2013:

“This is no pleasure in having nothing to do. The fun is having lots to do and not doing it.” – Andrew Jackson. Here are today’s government meetings… Actually, there aren’t any today. So, I guess Andrew J. wouldn’t be as happy today.

Yay, it’s family movie night! Expose your kids to the 1988 classic Stand and Deliver via the film club at the Kingston Free Library. The showing is at 7:30 p.m., and there will be free popcorn as well.

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Bicycle Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know.

A Queen-approved holiday! As previously mentioned, today is Bicycle Day. Please celebrate by listening to massive amounts of Queen.

She is very, very tall. Happy 26th birthday to professional tennis player Maria Sharapova! And for reference, she’s 6’2”.
