South Kingstown to Host 2013 Veterans Day Parade

The parade will kick off at 10 a.m. on Monday.

Beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, the South Kingstown VFW Washington County Post 916 and American Legion Post 39 will sponsor the 2013 South Kingstown Veterans Day Parade. 

The parade route will begin on Holly Street (behind Benny’s) then move to Main Street, then to High Street, finishing at Saugatucket Park. 

This year’s Grand Marshals are Susan Gustaitis and husband Brian Gustaitis. Susan has served as the executive director of the Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale since September 2005 and also holds the position of Secretary on the Rhode Island Community Food Bank's Board of Directors.

Following the parade, a memorial ceremony will be conducted at Saugatucket Park beginning at approximately 11 a.m. with James Haldeman, Lt. Colonel USMC Ret. serving as the Master of Ceremonies. 

South Kingstown officials welcome and encourage everyone to attend the parade and ceremony.
