SK Officials Order Town Offices Closed For Winter Storm, Narragansett Will Open

Narragansett offices remain open, but possibly delayed, and both towns have designated Warming Centers for residents as well.

Due to hazardous weather conditions caused by the ongoing snowstorm, South Kingstown officials have ordered that all municipal offices remain closed for Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.

Closed offices include Town Hall, libraries, administrative offices, Parks & Recreation, Human/Senior Services and clerical offices at police and fire departments.

The Neighborhood Guild, located at 325 Columbia Street, Peace Dale, will be closed for normal operations but will remain open as the Town's official Warming Center for residents in need. Click here to view the Warming Center's hours or contact the Guild directly with any questions at 789-9301.

Narragansett town offices are open Friday, however poor travel conditions may cause some delay in opening. In addition, the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library, located at 35 Kingstown Rd., Narragansett, will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 and 4 as a Warming Center. Parking will be limited.

Emergency services will remain operational, as will DPW snow removal and road treatment services. As announced Thursday both Narragansett and SK school districts schools have canceled classes for Friday. Both towns also continue to implement parking bans.
