NBA Forward Lamar Odom Returns to URI

Odom is said to be utilizing his former URI basketball courts to practice this week.

NBA star Lamar Odom has been spotted several times this week at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston - his Alma Mater – where URI students say he's been busy hitting the courts at his old gym.

Odom took a break from practice Tuesday night at Caliente Mexican Grill in the URI Emporium, where he chowed down on a Plain Jane burrito before heading back to the gym.

According to USA TODAY, URI Men's Basketball Assistant coach Preston Murphy – a former teammate of Odom’s in 1998, helped him gain access to the team's training facilities this week while the Rams take on the Metro State Roadrunners in Tucson, Ariz.

Odom, 34, is presumably training for his alleged return to the NBA after the unrestricted free agent met with Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers Friday, in a meeting that "went well" in regards to talks of his return to the team that he has played on for five of his 14 NBA seasons.

Odom has been a free agent since last year, following rampant rumors of drug abuse over the summer that culminated with his arrest in late August on DUI charges and reported treatment after.
