Homecoming Party for Heather Abbott This Sunday

The party is scheduled for Sunday, May 19, at the Rosecliff Mansion in Newport.

We are excited to announce that Newport Patch and The Newport Buzz have teamed up with family and friends of Newport resident Heather Abbott to host a welcome home party for Heather on Sunday, May 19, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Rosecliff Mansion in Newport.

It will be an afternoon of live music, food, cash bar and community, and elected Newport officials will conduct a brief ceremony to honor and welcome Heather back to Newport.

After Heather was seriously injured in the Boston Marathon bombing, doctors were forced to remove her left leg from the knee down. Her smile and positive attitude has inspired not only the Newport community, but all Americans, as the country recovers from that tragic day.
