Five Things, July 8: South Kingstown Town Council,

Today is Monday, July 8, 2013 and here are five things you should know about.

South Kingstown Town Council: The council will meet today at 7:30 p.m. in Town Council chambers, located at 180 High St., Wakefield. Find the agenda here.

Food Trucks at the Beach: Head to Narragansett Town Beach tonight from 6 - 10 p.m. for dinner from some of the regions local food trucks. Vendors are:  Eddie's BBQ, Go-Spresso, Pizza by Fire, Roxy's Lobster, Shuckin' Truck, and Blue Lobster.

Wakefield Concert Band at Marina Park: The 80-piece band under the direction of Barry Liebermann will perform on Monday evenings, June 24 to July 29, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair, a snack, and a friend, and enjoy the music! 

There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday: Rain is expected, but mainly after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog should be expected before 8 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 84. West wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
