Five Things, July 10: Trolley Tour, The Goonies and More

Today is Wednesday, July 10, 2013 and here are five things you should know about.

Gansett Trolley Tours: Reserve your spot on today's Historic Narragansett Trolley Tour, scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon. Tour Narragansett on a classic trolley ride narrated by “Mr. Narragansett” himself. Learn about the town’s rich history and take in breath-taking views during a trip led by long-time resident Ted Wright. The Towers serves as your departure and return point. $16 per person. Reservations are recommended and may be made online by clicking here.

Hey You Guyssss! Kids in grades 7 and up are invited to the Peace Dale Library (1057 Kingstown Rd., Peace Dale) today from 3-5 p.m. to watch the classic adventure movie, The Goonies! During the free event, participants will be able to make pirate treasures, bags and medallions while enjoying popcorn and other snacks! Registration is preferred and can be done by calling Brandi Kenyon at 789-1555 ext. 105. Now go practice your Truffle Shuffle!

Food Trucks at the Beach: Head to Narragansett Town Beach tonight from 6 - 10 p.m. for dinner from some of the regions local food trucks. Vendors include Eddie's BBQ, Go-Spresso, Pizza by Fire, Roxy's Lobster, Shuckin' Truck, and Blue Lobster.

Strokers Paddle Club: From 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday night in July and August, Narrow River Kayaks (94 Middlebridge Rd., Narragansett) is offering nearly 50% off regular kayak rental rates for members of the Strokers Paddle Club! To join, simply show up on a Wednesday evening and rent a kayak. Shortly after, you'll receive your NRK Paddle Club membership card in the mail, which will also allow you to save 10% off store purchases and 15% off rentals or guided excursions any other time during the week, as well as other special offers. Little Explorers Registration: Register today for one of this summer's South Kingstown Preschool Mini Camps, "Little Explorers", scheduled for Tuesday-Thursday, July 16-18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join the investigation with your magnifying glass to explore the world of bugs, leaves, frogs and more. Participants will explore the trails of the Tri-Pond Park using nets to explore life in the water. Open to children ages 3-6. $72 per resident, $82 per non-resident.
