5 THINGS: Veterans Day Parade Today!

Pay tribute to veterans with the annual South Kingstown parade.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Sunday, November 11, 2012:

The South Kingstown Veteran’s Day Parade is at 1 p.m. The route starts on Holly Street, behind Benny’s, and concludes at Saugatucket Park – For the full route, click here. The memorial ceremony starts at about 2 p.m. at the park, with retired Marine Corps Colonel James Halderman serving as the master of ceremonies. The South Kingstown High School and Chariho High School bands will also play.

Clean up for a good cause. The Bike Stop Café is sponsoring a public clean-up of Narragansett Town Beach from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. For more info, check out this Facebook event.

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s Angola's Independence Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Give the gift of food this holiday season. Children’s Dentistry of Wakefield is having a food drive from now until Dec. 19. For more info, click here.
