5 THINGS: MLK Jr. Day and More

Remember Dr. King, and more, in today's Five Things.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Monday, January 21, 2013:

It’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. So hopefully, like us here at Patch, you have the day off from work. As a result, we won’t be updating as much, unless there is breaking news of some sort. We will be back to our usual schedule on Tuesday though.

Register for South Kingstown Little League or Softball! Want to play Little League this year? Cool, click here! Is slow pitch softball more your speed? Cool, click here! Both leagues offer early bird specials if you register in January instead of February, so don’t dawdle!

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that it’s National Hug Day. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

Sign up for our daily newsletter! Hey, I realize we have a lot of neat features and knick-knacks on the site, so it can be confusing to keep up with it all. Want just one simple, easy to read daily digest? Sign up for our e-mail newsletter here then. It comes out between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. roughly, every single day of the week. Amazing, I know!

Now, it’s more of a setting for awesome episodes of Archer. On this day in 1911, the first Monte Carlo Rally took place.

I still think WWE didn’t use you well enough, and I wish you were still wrestling. Happy 30th birthday to Maryse Ouellet!
