Saunderstown resident receives citizenship scholarship
Citizens Bank today announced that Saunderstown resident Bevin Bankston has been selected as a recipient of its fourth annual TruFit Good Citizen Scholarship. Started in 2011, Citizens created the scholarship program as a way to recognize and reward students whose volunteer efforts have made a lasting impact in their communities.
Bankston will receive $5,000 and was chosen based on the responsibility and leadership skills he has demonstrated through his community service, as well as a $250 gift card from Stop & Shop. The scholarship program was open to U.S. residents who are 16-years of age or older and are attending or accepted to a federally accredited four-year college, university or graduate program for the Fall 2014 semester.
