South County Art Association to Host Opening Reception Tonight (and 4 More Things)

    SCAA Members' Invitational Exhibit: Tonight from 7-9 p.m., the South County Art Association (SCAA) will host this month's member exhibit opening reception. The exhibit, on display at the Helme House, located at 2587 Kingstown Rd., Kingston, will feature works in a variety of media by 10 artist members.

    Résumé Writing Tutorial: From 11 a.m. to noon today, the Narragansett Public Library (35 Kingstown Road, Narragansett) will offer a free résumé writing class featuring online job searching techniques. The session will cover online job search resources and websites, how to create a professional presence online, and how to manage job search information. In addition, participants will learn how to use Microsoft Word to format their résumé. For more information, call the Library at 401-789-9507.

    International Wine & Local Cuisine: From 5-8 p.m. this evening, the Southern RI Chamber of Commerce's International Wine & Local Cuisine event will take place at the Peacedale Mill Complex (1425 Kingstown Rd., South Kingstown). The popular event will feature great eats from Matunuck Oyster Bar, George's of Galilee, Coast Guard House, Wild Wood Catering, Crazy Burger and many more local vendors and eateries!     Fall Activities in SK: The South Kingstown Parks & Recreation Department has published its Fall 2013 brochure that lists all of the fun classes, activities and trips offered this autumn. Click here to view and/or download the guide.

    Tomorrow - Showtime B-Ball at SKHS: This Friday, Sept. 27, the SK Dream Team will face off against The Harlem Rockets for an evening of thrilling Showtime Basketball at South Kingstown High School. For years the Rockets have been entertaining fans with their unique combination of basketball skills, zany comedy and audience participation. The SK Dream Team is made up of teachers and administrators from across the school district! Doors open at 6 p.m., game starts at 7 p.m. General Admission tickets are $12 per adult or $10 per student or senior (65+) at the door.
