URI Slow Food Market: From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and every Tuesday in October, Slow Food URI will hold its Local Food Market on the Quad. The market offers something for everyone, featuring grub from Tallulah's Tacos, Bravo Wood-fired Pizza, Great Harvest and The Coffee Guy. 'Love Is All You Need' Screening: Today from 2-4 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m., Narragansett Public Library (25 Kingstown Road) will host a free showing of the 2013 film, "Love Is All You Need" (R). Synopsis: "Philip an Englishman living in Denmark, is a middle-aged widower and estranged single father. Ida is a Danish hairdresser who's just been left by her husband for a younger woman. The fates of these two souls are about to come together as they embark for a trip to Italy to attend the wedding of Patrick and Astrid, Philip's son and Ida's daughter. A story about seeking love and having the courage to change your life - even when you think it's too late." (Starring: Pierce Brosnan and Trine Dyrholm.) Note: This movie is in Danish with subtitles.
Gansett Blood Drive: Be a hero and donate blood today! The Rhode Island Blood Center will be conducting a blood donation drive from 2-4 p.m. at the Narragansett Public Safety Building (40 Caswell St., Narragansett). Call 401-453-8307 or visit www.ribc.org to make an appointment (not required).
SK Farmers' Market: Skip the grocery store tonight and pick up some fresh fruits, veggies and baked goods at South Kingstown's outdoor Farmers' Market at Marina Park! From 2-6 p.m. each Tuesday through October, the Park will host the community market that also offers plants, handmade handbags and more. Public Education Forum: At 7 p.m. tonight and each Tuesday evening through Dec. 10, the University of Rhode Island Fall 2013 Honors Colloquium will offer public education forums in Edwards Auditorium on the Kingston Campus. In this series, coordinated by David Byrd and Diane Kern, participants will explore how education still matters and debate key issues central to understanding the future of public schools and higher education.
