Movie Minions at Maury Loontjens Today (and 4 More Things)

    Kid's Instrument Lessons: Today at 11 a.m., Kids Music Play, located in the back of Pow! Science! Toys at 160 Old Tower Hill Rd., South Kingstown, will host a free open session of the children's musical instrument group lessons that are offered at the center for ages 3.5 and up.     Free Movie at Maury Loontjens: Today from 2-3:30 p.m. and again from 6-7:30 p.m, the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library (35 Kingstown Rd., Narragansett) will host a free showing of the 2013 children's film, Despicable Me 2 (PG). The movie features the return of former super-villain Gru who has been recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help deal with a powerful new super criminal. (Starring: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt)

    URI Basketball: The University of Rhode Island Men's Basketball team will take to the Ryan Center court at 7 p.m. tonight against the Saint Louis Billikens. TV Broadcast: CBSSN; Radio: B101.

    Plan Ahead - CPR Training: From 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Narragansett Fire Department will host an American Heart Association-approved CPR training course at the Narragansett Community Center (53 Mumford Rd.) The free class will train participants in HeartSaver CPR/AED for adult, child and infant. Textbook will be supplied. For more info or to register, contact the NFD at (401) 789-1000, ext. 4.

    Courthouse Classes: Beginning this month, The Courthouse Center for the Arts in West Kingston will be hosting a variety of classes for all ages, including (but certainly not limited to) Yoga, Monologues and Scene Study, Guitar, Intro to Theater and more.
