'Jaws' at Narragansett Beach Tonight (and 4 More Things)

    Movie on the Beach: Tonight at 8:15 p.m., bring the family (along with some chairs or blankets) to Narragansett Town Beach for a free showing of classic 1975 film, "Jaws", starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss. Food trucks will also be available for those who don't feel like cooking dinner in this heat!

    Be a Sports Blogger! Are you crazy about Narragansett and/or South Kingstown sports?     SRICC Business After Hours: From 5-7 p.m. this evening, the Southern RI Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Business After Hours event at A&B Family Appliances, located at 446A Main Street in Wakefield.     Strokers Paddle Club: From 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday night in August, Narrow River Kayaks (94 Middlebridge Rd., Narragansett) is offering nearly 50% off regular kayak rental rates for members of the Strokers Paddle Club! To join, simply show up on a Wednesday evening and rent a kayak. Shortly after, you'll receive your NRK Paddle Club membership card in the mail, which will also allow you to save 10% off store purchases and 15% off rentals or guided excursions any other time during the week, as well as other special offers. Click here for complete details.

    Plan Ahead - Back to School Night: From 6-7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, families are invited to the Village Green (325 Columbia St., Peace Dale) for one last outdoor summer concert before school begins! This week's event will feature the beloved duo, Toe Jam Puppet Band, who will have everyone dancing at their seats in no time! Don't forget your chairs or blankets!
