Free Meditation Workshop Today at Narragansett Library (and 4 More Things)

    Free Meditation Workshop: Have you ever wanted to try meditation? You're in luck! From 3-4 p.m. today, learn all about the ancient practice of mind-training during a free workshop led by Dr. Celina Pereira. The workshop is hosted by and will take place at the Narragansett Public Library, located at 35 Kingstown Road, Narragansett.

    Postponed - 'SuperDogs' at URI: The SuperDogs "Wild, Wild Woof" show, scheduled for today, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the URI Ryan Center has been postponed until May 2, 2014. A new show time will be determined in the near future. All Oct. 11 tickets will be honored on May 2. Click here for more details and refund information.

    Star Gazing at Frosty Drew Observatory: Tonight and every Friday night at 6 p.m., get star struck at the Frosty Drew Observatory's Public Stargazing Night (61 Park Ln., Charlestown). Be sure to subscribe to the Frost Drew Observatory mailing list or follow them on Twitter (@FrostyDrewOBSY) to receive status updates about the public stargazing program. This is a free event, however donations are greatly appreciated. 

    "Be Aggressive" at URI: Tonight at 7:30 p.m., URI Theatre presents the drama, "Be Aggressive" by Annie Weisman in the Department's J Studio. The production, published in Smith and Kraus' Best Plays of 2001 and by Dramatists Play Service, is the offbeat telling of a classic tale of journey and catharsis in the complicated life of a teenage girl.     Plan Ahead - Weekend Flu Clinic: On Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., the Church of Ascension, located at 370 Main Street, Wakefield, will host a community flu clinic. Vaccinations will be available to individuals age 19 and older. Those with health insurance must bring proof of coverage. Click here for insurance and payment information.
