Free Holiday Movie Showing Today at Narragansett Library (and 4 More Things)

    Free Movie - Dutch: Today from 2-3:45 p.m. and again from 6-7:45 p.m, the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library (35 Kingstown Rd., Narragansett) will host a free showing of the 1991 film, Dutch (PG-13). The movie tells the story of a regular, blue-collar guy who starts dating the ex-wife of a wealthy big shot. When her spoiled son refuses to come home from his prep school for Thanksgiving, Dutch offers to pick him up...only he has no idea what he is getting himself into. (Starring Ed O'Neill, Ethan Embry and JoBeth Williams.)

    SK Planning Board: Members of the South Kingstown Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. this evening in the SK Town Hall Council Chambers, located at 180 High Street in Wakefield. Click here to view tonight's agenda. 

    URI Talent Development Forum: At 7 p.m. tonight the University of Rhode Island Fall 2013 Honors Colloquium will offer a panel discussion on the University’s Talent Development Program, which helps Rhode Island high school graduates from disadvantaged backgrounds earn a URI degree. The lecture will be held in Edwards Hall, located at 64 Upper College Road in Kingston.     Free Thanksgiving Dinners: Continuing their tradition of serving the community, members of the South Kingstown Elks Lodge No. 1899 will once again serve free Thanksgiving meals to anyone interested in joining them, regardless of financial situation or other factors. The dinner will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Elks Lodge (60 Belmont Ave., Wakefield). Guests are asked to RSVP at 783-7819 so the Lodge can estimate a head count. Click here to learn more about this generous holiday event!
