Free 'Captain Phillips' Showing Friday Night at Narragansett Library (and 4 More Things)

    Free Movie at Maury Loontjens: Rescheduled due to this week's snowstorm, the Narragansett Public Library (25 Kingstown Road) will host a free showing of this year's hit film, "Captain Phillips" (PG-13), tonight from 6 to 8:15 p.m. The movie is based on the true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US flagged MV Maersk Alabama, which was the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years. (Starring: Tom Hanks and Barkhad Abdi.)

    Star Gazing at Frosty Drew Observatory: Tonight and every Friday night at 6 p.m., get star struck at the Frosty Drew Observatory's Public Stargazing Night (61 Park Ln., Charlestown). Be sure to subscribe to the Frost Drew Observatory mailing list or follow them on Twitter (@FrostyDrewOBSY) to receive status updates about the public stargazing program. This is a free event, however donations are greatly appreciated.

    Men's Over-35 Drop in B-Ball: Looking to have some fun and let loose some stress? Join your peers for recreational fun and good basketball supervised by Glenn Miller, tonight and each Friday through Mar. 14 from 7-9 p.m. at Peace Dale Elementary School (109 Kersey Rd, Peace Dale)  All ability levels are welcome and everyone plays.Note: Program does not meet when school is not in session. $2 per session. Click here for more Town activities and programs.
